Although 50 North’s building has not been opened since Governor Mike DeWine ordered senior centers to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 50 North has been an essential service and we have been busy.

We have been ENRICHING LIVES AND SUPPORTING INDEPENDENCE OF PEOPLE 50 AND OLDER IN HANCOCK COUNTY beginning on March 12, 2020 and thru June 19, 2020, we have:

  • Provided 4,569 meals
  • Delivered 154 orders of groceries
  • Completed 259 chores
  • Built 3 ramps
  • Cleaned 154 homes
  • Provided 2,297 social services by our social workers
  • Made 4,026 connection calls to our members
  • Taught Delay the Disease, Geri-Fit and Yoga though Zoom classes
  • Weekly Facebook posts: Take Time Tuesday and Fitness Friday Live, Craft Class with Bonnie, Travel Tease with Celia Louise, Uncle Harry, Outdoor with Margie, Outreach with Tammie, Curbside Café, BGSU Dietician creates three tasty berry recipes and more.

Even though the Governor’s order for senior centers to remain closed is still in effect, our local health department has given the approval for 50 North to re-open the Fitness and Wellness Center on Monday, June 29, 2020, by appointment only. Please click on the button below to read the guidelines required by the state health department.

However, because the Governor has not lifted the closing of Senior Centers yet, the rest of the building will remain closed.
