We are a community built by a community. You can help 50 North ensure that older adults will live longer, enjoy better health, stay in their homes, stay involved, and participate in an active, interesting, and more flexible lifestyle. Any gift will make a real difference.

Your support helps us provide the following for individuals 50+ in Hancock County:

  • Mobile meals

  • Grocery delivery

  • Lunch in our Café

  • Light chores

  • In-home visits by licensed social workers

  • Transportation in partnership with HATS

  • Recreational and social programs

  • And More!

If you have a passion for helping seniors and would like to know more about how you can support 50 North through a charitable gift of any size or from any source, contact us today!

We are a local, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization; approximately 60% of our operating budget is funded by tax dollars. As the senior population grows in our county, your gift helps ensure that individuals 50+ receive the services they need to enrich their lives and remain living safely in their own homes.

Through gift planning, you can complete a lifetime of giving or make a significant gift that will be a wise tax investment for your future. Your gift will have an impact far beyond your lifetime. There are many ways to plan these gifts:

    • Wills, trust, estate planning
    • Qualified retirement plans and IRAs
    • Life insurance
    • Payable-on-death accounts
    • Donor-advised funds
    • Transfer-on-death accounts and assets
    • Charitable gift annuities

Be sure to consult your tax advisor to investigate how a charitable donation might affect your personal tax situation. For more information about bequests, contact Annette Kessler:

" A gift from your IRA, 401k, 403b, pension, or other tax-deferred plan is an excellent way to make a gift. By making a donation to 50 North, you will impact the lives of older adults now and into the future. Please consider making a gift of your unused retirement assets to further 50 North’s mission of enriching lives and supporting independence."

"When you donate appreciated securities to 50 North, you can take a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the security as of the date of your gift. Choosing securities that have the lowest cost basis and the highest capital gain makes the most tax sense. You pay no capital gains tax on your gift, nor does 50 North, because 50 North is a 501(c) 3 tax-exempt organization. Transferring securities from your brokerage account is not complicated. Donating long-term appreciated securities makes tax sense."
