Although 50 North’s building has not been opened since Governor Mike DeWine ordered senior centers to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 50 North has been an essential service and we have been busy.

We have been ENRICHING LIVES AND SUPPORTING INDEPENDENCE OF PEOPLE 50 AND OLDER IN HANCOCK COUNTY beginning on March 12, 2020 and thru July 17, 2020, we have:

  • Provided 5,089  Mobile Meals, delivered
  • Prepared and served 2,100 Curbside Pick-up meals to seniors who are able to drive to 50 North and pick up meals
  • Delivered 164 orders of groceries to home-bound seniors
  • Completed 467 chore services
  • Built 6 ramps for seniors to allow for safe movement to and from their homes
  • Provided Housekeeping to 74 homes, 159 times
  • Provided 2,995 social services by our social workers to individuals or on their behalf
  • Made 4,849 connection calls to our members
  • Taught Delay the Disease, Geri-Fit and Yoga though Zoom classes and now several in-person/Zoom classes are offered
  • Weekly Facebook posts: Take Time Tuesday and Fitness Friday Live, Craft Class with Bonnie, Travel Tease with Celia Louise, Uncle Harry, Outdoor with Margie, Outreach with Tammie, Curbside Café, BGSU's Dietician creating tasty recipes, Executive Director updates,  and more.

UPDATES!!!!

Even though the Governor’s order for senior centers to remain closed is still in effect, our local health department gave the approval for 50 North to     re-open the Fitness and Wellness Center on Monday, June 29, 2020 and "limited" Group Exercise Classes on July 13, 2020, by appointment only. 

Please click on the button below to read the guidelines required by the state health department.                                                                                                      However, because the Governor has not lifted the closing of Senior Centers yet, the rest of the building will remain closed.
